The 23rd Annual Penn State Dairy Nutrition Workshop will be held November 8-9, 2023, at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA.

Organized by the College of Agriculture Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University, over three dozen speakers will provide cutting-edge knowledge to dairy field nutritionists and feed industry professionals.
The November 8th sessions will focus on the theme of Nutrigenomics, or the impact nutrition has on the immunity, health, and well-being of the dairy cow. Nutrigenomics is the study of the effects of food and food constituents on gene expression, and how genetic variations affect the nutritional environment. In simple terms, nutrigenomics is broadly defined as the relationship between nutrients, diet, and gene expression.
The November 9th sessions will focus on feeding dairy cattle in automated milking systems, maximizing the transition cow diet for optimal performance, and mycotoxin management in the diet. There will be speakers also talking about controlled energy diets and fully-acidogenic, Dietary Cation-Anion Difference (DCAD) diets for transition cows and their calves, as well as Vitamin-D nutrition for transition cow health.
With an average attendance of approximately 600 professionals, and 40 top exhibitors at the tradeshow, attendees have consistently ranked this Dairy Nutrition Workshop as one of the premier events in the Northeast.
